WHAT IS COMPOST? How does it benefit my garden? How do I make my own compost?
Get the answers to all your questions about composting during the 2017 Composting Workshop. Expert instructor, Linda Whitlock will teach you the science of composting and how it nurtures healthy soil biology. Compost will benefit your garden by providing essential nutrients for your plants and improve the quality of your soil. It is so much more than grass clippings and leaves! Learn the techniques for cold composting and hot composting. Class will also include a demonstration of maintaining a compost pile and how to incorporate the finished product into your soil, so wear suitable clothing and bring work gloves.
Coffee and donuts will be provided during check-in along with a 30-minute break between the classroom presentation and outdoor demonstrations.
Re-certified MSU Extension Master Gardener attendees will earn 4 continuing education hours (selecting the VMS project of Environmental Stewardship: Composting).
