Preschoolers will discover all we have to offer in the winter season on our 160 acre farm, with the opportunity to participate in the sustainable harvest of the first Michigan agricultural product of the year… maple sugar sap! We will develop scientific thinking skills through an inquiry-based, project approach to learning in order to investigate how sap becomes syrup through experiences such as tapping a tree, evaporating the sap, and tasting MSU Tollgate Farm maple syrup.
Group sizes are kept to a low child-to-teacher ratio in order to fully meet the needs and interests of the child. Experiential learning and seasonally-based investigations are integrated into the program to assist children in reaching developmentally appropriate cognitive learning goals related to science, literacy, mathematics, engineering, social studies, and Spanish as a foreign language.
Preschoolers will develop social, emotional, and physical skills as participants in the farm community through shared discoveries and cooperative experiences.

Preschoolers need to have gained independence with potty-training to register.
Schedule: Wednesdays / 4 weeks / February 27th - March 20th
Morning Session: 9 - 11:30 a.m. (3 - 4 years)
Afternoon Session: 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. (4 - 5 years)
Program space is limited, so be sure to register early!
Cost: $150 A.M. Session / $180 P.M. Session (locally and/or organically grown snack included!)
Cancellation Policy: A $50 fee will be charged to cancel your registration through January 12th. After January 12th, there will be no refund.
