In the thirteen Master Gardener Training classes you'll receive horticulture training based on university research:: soil science, integrated pest management, diagnostics, annuals and perennials, woody ornamentals, lawns, vegetables, small fruits, tree fruits and gardening for water conservation.  Volunteers in training then provide 40 hours of community service to become certified master gardeners.
