2015 Genesee County Master Gardener Education Bus Trip - Master Gardener Association, Genesee County, Michigan

Leaves at 7:30 AM (Sharp) from University of Michigan, Flint parking lot, returning to University of Flint parking lot at 7:00 PM and traveling first to Grand Rapids  and Meijer Gardens where we'll visit the Tranquility Zone: A Japanese Garden Environment for Families. Use your imagination as your explore this Japanese Garden environment! Walk quietly on the stepping stone path and over the bridge. Rearrange the boulders and rake the “sand” in the Zen-Style garden. Turn over rocks and lily pads to find fun facts and challenges. Discover hidden information throughout the exhibition. After a Docent guided tour of the gardens we will enjoy a boxed lunch of your choice. After Lunch enjoy some free time on your own before leaving for our next destination.

Our next destination is The Wooden Shoe Herb Farm, a working farm. The farm consists of the shop, greenhouse, drying barn with classroom, surrounded by acres of organically grown herbs and perennials. The farm is owned by Brenda and Ron Ginther.

Our final stop will be a relaxing dinner at your own expense at Brody Hall on MSU campus. The Cost for dinner $10.06 tax included.

The bus holds just 56 people so registration will be first come first serve. Master Gardeners will receive five educational hours.
